Clap for M.O.D.O.K.!
Hulu and Marvel have announced the voice cast for their upcoming M.O.D.O.K. animated series. As previously announced, Patton Oswalt will voice the Mental Organism Designed Only (for) Killing, who finds himself ousted from A.I.M. and faces a disintegrating family life and a mid-life crisis. Joining Oswalt in the series are Aimee Garcia as M.O.D.O.K.’s wife Jodie, Ben Schwartz as their twelve-year-old son Lou, and Melissa Fumero as his seventeen-year-old sister Melissa. Other voices included Wendi McLendon-Covey as A.I.M. scientist Monica Rappaccini, Beck Bennet as M.O.D.O.K.’s new boss, Austin Van Der Sleet, Jon Daly as the Super Adaptoid and Sam Richardson as Gary, a M.O.D.O.K. loyalist within A.I.M.
“I’m blown away by our insanely talented and hilarious voice cast, who have all brought their specific kind of magic to this weird and wonderful corner of the Marvel Universe,” said series executive producer and showrunner Jordan Blum in a statement.
“Patton and Jordan have done a phenomenal job in laying the groundwork for this exceptional ensemble, we’re thrilled to include this cast in the Marvel family,” added Karim Zreik, senior vice president of original programming & production at Marvel TV Studios.
The series is the first of four planned animated series Marvel will produce for Hulu to announce a full cast. The others include Hit-Monkey, Howard the Duck, and Tigra & Dazzler. The latter saw its creative staff replaced just before the end of 2019, suggesting it may be the last to hit the streaming service before the title characters all unite in a one-off animated special called The Offenders.
Because we love M.O.D.O.K., we couldn’t be happier to see this series continue its development in the wake of shake-ups at Marvel’s television division. Now under the aegis of Marvel Studios, Zreik is one of the few executives expected to stay on after a transitional period.
M.O.D.O.K. is slated to debut later this year.
