‘The Garden of Words’ Is The Perfect Anime To Netflix And Chill

After being blown away by Weathering With You, I was delighted to learn that there’s an Original Video Animation short film by director Makoto Shinkai now streaming on Netflix.
The Garden of Words explores the unlikely bond between an aspiring shoe-maker and a mysterious woman he meets in a park. Much like Weathering With You, this story also explores the themes of rain, romance, and revealing character as opposed to powering through plot.
With Valentines Day is coming up, I’d highly recommend watching The Garden of Words with your significant other. The film is a great entry point for those who might be unfamiliar with anime, but want something mature and emotionally effecting.
