Grodd Makes A Monkey Of Barry In A Preview Of The Next Flash

by Erik Amaya

It wouldn’t be a season of The Flash without an appearance by Gorilla Grodd. And if this preview is anything to go by, the super-intelligent telepathic gorilla locks Barry (Grant Gustin) in his mind to prove a point. But considering the Crisis, is this Grodd friend or foe? Also, since Gorilla City exists on Earth-Prime, is it possible Solivar is also out there, somewhere?

Meanwhile, we’ve finally seen the introduction of Sue Dearbon (Natalie Dreyfuss). And while she seems like the perfect foil for Ralph (Hartley Sawyer), making her something of an anti-hero feels like the right call even if Selina Kyle presumably exists somewhere on Earth-Prime. But as we’ll probably never see that character on these shows, setting up Sue as the world’s best socialite cat burglar certainly re-frames her meet-cute with the Elongated Man. Will they be able to work it out? We certainly hope so. We also hope they get their own series at some point.
In the interim, though, it seems she is connected to the Black Hole problem. Then again, it seems to be engulfing everyone with Joe (Jesse L. Martin) taking notice of their handywork, Barry digging into their activities, and Team Citizen continuing their investigation. Then there’s Mirror Iris (Candace Patton). Is she part of their plan or a complete x-factor?
The Flash airs Tuesdays on The CW.
