‘Daddy Daughter Day’ Explores Simple Joy Of Being Together
by James Ferguson
Dark Horse has announced Daddy Daughter Day, a new children’s book exploring the small moments in life from writer Isabellle Bridges-Boesch and artist Jeff Bridges (yes, that Jeff Bridges). The real life father / daughter team created the book together, telling the story of a simple, fun day from Isabelle’s youth where she wakes up and declares that day “Daddy Daughter Day.” Adventure ensues as the whole family comes along for the ride.

Writer Isabelle Bridges-Boesch says:
This book has been inside of me for years. When I finally shared the idea with my dad he was instantly supportive and agreed to do the illustrations. Working on this project together has felt like one long Daddy Daughter Day because we really got to spend some time connecting and collaborating. I am so excited to share this book with anyone who wants to have a peek into what it was like to grow up being my dad’s daughter as well as anyone who is curious about creating their own Daddy Daughter Day (or Mommy Son Day, Sister Brother Day…)

Artist Jeff Bridges added:
When your kids are young you can say, “Hey, let’s play pretend, or play a game.” When they’ve become adults, spending time together is often challenging. Everyone’s busy with their lives, with careers, with work. Daddy Daughter Day gave my dear daughter Isabelle and I a reason to spend time together and have an adventure.

Mike Richardson, CEO of Dark Horse says:
Jeff and Isabelle have created a book that will touch the heart of any reader. Daddy Daughter Day is a reflection of the warmth and love shared between a father and daughter, and it is our good fortune they have chosen to share with us. This book is a joy!
Daddy Daughter Day clocks in at 56 pages and will retail for $17.99. It’s set for release on October 6th, 2020 and is currently available for pre-order at your local comic shop, bookstore, and Amazon.
