Silk Returns With A New Web To Weave In July

Peter Parker wasn’t the only one bitten by that radioactive spider. In 2014, we learned the arachnid also bit Cindy Moon, giving her spider powers and creating the hero Silk. Marvel Comics has announced the character has a new web to weave this July with a new series from writer Maurene Goo and artist Takeshi Miyazawa, filled with ruthless villains like the cat demon Kasha and a new gig as an investigative reporter working for J. Jonah Jameson.
Goo says:
The opportunity to write a Korean American super hero—a woman, no less—is one that I never thought would come my way. I’m so excited to flex this writing muscle and to explore new stories for Silk—a character I love. Her fierceness and loyalty are qualities I understand and relate to, and I hope readers feel the same as she fights new foes and protects old friends.
I’m not familiar with Goo’s work, but I am a huge fan of Miyazawa’s art. I’m all in for anything that guy draws so I’m definitely going to be checking out Silk #1 when it debuts in July.
