Barry’s Speed Wanes As Ragdoll Returns On The Next ‘Flash’
by Erik Amaya
Barry (Grant Gustin) may have a way to regain his speed, but as this preview of the next Flash indicates, he will not have all of it in time to face the return of Ragdoll (Troy James). And as Eva (Efrat Dor) accelerates her plans, Barry may find himself facing the cruelest cut from Mirror Iris (Candice Patton). But does the new Mirror Master have more than escape in mind?
And while we’re sad to see the show taking a several weeks hiatus, we’re glad it’s pausing on such an emotional episode. Thawne (Tom Cavanagh) will always be Barry’s best enemy. And the two actors always play their scenes together with such intensity that we wish it was feasible for Thawne to be around more often. As an added bonus, the episode let us see Nash’s (also Cavanagh) great sin and more Wellses in one place than we ever expected to see Post-Crisis. Cavanagh is such a gifted actor and seeing him play three of the his characters in such close proximity underlines his importance to the show.
Also, it was nice to see Cecile (Danielle Nicolet) also get a bit of story this week. She’s so underutilized, but one of the show’s great treats whenever it remembers she’s on staff. Hopefully, she’ll continue to be an asset when the series resumes its current season.
The Flash returns April 7th.
