Forbidden Planet’s ‘Empyre’ Signings And Worlds Apart’s ‘Kingmaker’ Signings Cancelled

by Olly MacNamee

Comic con, music festivals and all other has gatherings are quickly following one another to cancel. And now it’s hitting signings too, with one rather high profile now cancelled too.
London’s Forbidden Planet was due to have Al Ewing (Avengers #0, Empyre #1), Alex Paknadel (Lord Of Empyre: Celestial Messiah #1), Paul Grist (Union #1) and Ram V(Empyre: Thor #1), signing on Wednesday 20th May, but no longer.

However, there is a silver lining to all of this as they now have plenty of stock available – and all signed – available to order here.
Further north and the scheduled Kingmaker signings that would have taken place in Liverpool and Birmingham’s Worlds Apart stores over two consecutive weekends with Ian Edginton and Leigh Gallagher have also now been cancelled too. Read more on this cancellation here.
It’s getting darker and darker out there. I was able to make it to my LCBS yesterday, Worlds Apart in Birmingham, to hear that opening hours have been shortened and comic book distribution could well become a major headache from next week onwards. You may want to check ahead before you try and venture out by following your own LCNBS on social media.
