Dylan Walsh Joins ‘Superman & Lois’ Cast As Lois’s Father
by Erik Amaya
Superman & Lois will indeed be a family affair.
Deadline reports the series has added actor Dylan Walsh to its regular cast as General Samuel Lane. The character is Lois Lane’s (Elizabeth Tulloch) father and is described as a “no-nonsense Army General who’s determined to keep America, and the world, safe from all threats – from this world or beyond.” He is also said to be a workaholic who “demands nothing but excellence from all those in his life.”
The character previously appeared in Supergirl‘s first season in the form of actor Glenn Morshower. Of course, the Crisis is an easy way to explain the recasting and no doubt Lois or Clark (Tyler Hoechlin) will call it out when General Lane makes his first appearance on the show.
Set on the Arrowverse’s Earth-Prime, the series will see Clark and Lois returning to life in Metropolis as they deal with all the stress, pressures and complexities that come with being working parents in today’s society.
It is unclear when the series will debut, but its sounds as if the plan was to introduce it in the Fall, like Batwoman this previous year. But with a 13-episode order and all the uncertainties because of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is possible this will be postponed to spring 2020.
