A First Look At ‘G.I. Joe: Operation Blackout’
by Sage Ashford
After the box art for G.I. Joe: Operation Blackout leaked a while back, GameMill Entertainment finally announced the upcoming title this week. The game will feature twelve playable characters between both the G.I. Joe crew and Cobra. Six are confirmed so far: Duke, Roadblock, Snake Eyes, Destro, Cobra Commander, and Storm Shadow. But seeing as the Baroness and Scarlett are both shown in the trailer, the two of them are likely to be part of the game as well. That brings the current total to eight, with four unannounced characters remaining.
Though this is a smaller budget title, it appears to come with 18 stages and a story set in the classic 1980’s G.I. Joe universe. There is also PVP and PVE co-op, so there will be plenty of multiplayer content, with classic modes like Capture the Flag and Assault being mentioned among others.
G.I. Joe: Operation Blackout releases on Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4, October 13th.
