‘The Batman’, ‘The Flash,’ And More Set For DC FanDome Panels

by Erik Amaya

Even if DC Comics is in disarray after Monday’s WarnerMedia layoffs, it appears the rest of DC Entertainment is all-systems-go for next weekend’s DC FanDome. The entirely online DC convention announced its scheduling on Friday and it is heavy on non-comic book media offerings.
Starting with the Wonder Woman 1984 panel at 10 AM, the so-called Hall of Heroes area of FanDome will be an almost non-stop day of movie-related panels. There’s even going to be a presentation on the long-delayed Flash feature film! Other films to be discussed include Black Adam, the Shazam! and Aquaman sequels and The Batman at 5:30PM. In the midst of all of it will be a look at the Snyder Cut of Justice League at 2:45 PM.
The Hall of Heroes virtual stage will also play host to a presentation on the upcoming Suicide Squad video game and a “surprise panel.”
But like other conventions of this type, there is more than one stage. The “WatchVerse” stage will be the home to panels about the various DC related television shows. It’s a full day of Black Lightning, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, Stargirl, Doom Patrol, Harley Quinn, Lucifer, and Titans. There will also be a panel dedicated to the upcoming Superman & Lois. Honestly, to see all of the TV offerings listed in one spot reminds us what an embarrassment of riches DC managed to create on television.
The other stages will offer looks behind the scenes at what’s left of DC Comics — and a few peaks at what upcoming comic book storylines — a dedicated kids area, screenings of DC Animated Universe films, and other events.
Take a look at the schedule. It’s a lot of content. Luckily, FanDome will run encores of most of it across its 24-hour broadcast. We’re assuming videos will not be available in their entirety after the event, so make a schedule for your day.
DC FanDome kicks off on August 22nd.
