Yoda Narrates A Life Day Poem In ‘LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special’ Trailer

by Erik Amaya

Disney+ is getting in the spirit of Life Day.

The service will debut a new LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special on November 17th — the agreed upon Life Day fans celebrate every year. It also released a trailer early on Thursday offering a glimpse of what to expect from the special. Fans of the various LEGO video games or animated movies will recognize a certain sense of humor.

As seen here, Rey finds a way into one of the Jedi time travel temples and lands in various moments of Star Wars history. From the Clone Wars to, seemingly, The Mandalorian, she will meet key figures like Yoda, duel with Darth Vader, and possibly inspire Sheev Palpatine’s plan to cheat time itself.

Of course, this is still a LEGO show, so it will all be done with tongue planted firmly in cheek and, we imagine, a continuity-be-damned sensibility. We wouldn’t have it any other way. Save canon for a live action Holiday Special. Granted, the last time such a thing was attempted — 1978’s The Star Wars Wars Holiday Special — it was immediately stricken from the record.

You almost have to wonder if the new special will have some pointed references to the old one.

Besides the cheery, jokey tone, the LEGO special will feature the voices of Kelly Marie Tran, Billy Dee Williams, and other Star Wars veterans to give the proceedings a more official air.

The LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special comes to DIsney+ on Life Day, November 18th.
