Michelle Pfeiffer To Return In Third ‘Ant-Man’ Film

Another story for Janet Van Dyne is in the works.

Comingsoon.net reports Michelle Pfeiffer confirmed her involvement in the third Ant-Man film during an interview on the Ladies First with Laura Brown podcast. Sadly though, she could offer no further details about the film; which will feature the return of Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, Evangeline Lilly as Janet’s daughter Hope, and Micheal Douglas as Janet’s estranged husband, Hank Pym.

Although, that last detail may offer some clue as to where Janet’s story may go. Though working as a team in the 1980s, she was lost in the Quantum Realm for decades. In that time, Hank became a weird recluse who trusted his technology to a small time thief (Rudd’s Lang). Her perception of that time may be different, but will she really recognize Pym as the man she married 40+ years ago? Will she even want to resume any semblance of the life they had?

Working through those issues would be very much on-point for the series, which bakes family discord into its impossible heists.

At the same time, though, the film may be introducing another Marvel family into the mix as Jonathan Majors is reportedly set to play Kang the Conqueror. That character has a long association with the Fantastic Four and since there is a Marvel Studios film being developed about that team, Ant-Man 3 may offer us some clues about their status.

The film is not currently scheduled for release, although we suspect it will be one of the Phase 5 releases in 2023. Director Peyton Reed will be returning for his third heist with the lovable cast of characters.
