Review: Kit’s World Burns Down In ‘Scout’s Honor’ #2

The first chapter of Scout’s Honor ended with the crushing revelation that the Ranger Scouts turned on and murdered their founder, Jefferson Hancock. Everything Kit has ever known about the organization and the new world order is a lie. Now she doesn’t know what to believe or who to trust.

In Scout’s Honor #2, things get way more complicated. Kit pulls her dad in on the Hancock secret, The Scoutmaster wants her to join the Eagle’s Guard, and Dez? Dez has a doozy of a secret himself. 

David Pepose really dials up the tension in chapter two. Everything is in delicate balance, and events of this chapter threaten to upset that balance at any moment.

Luca Casalanguida and Matt Milla bring the script to life with beautifully savage imagery. This installment has a few of the tender moments we saw last month, but is mostly packed with action. From fistfights to armed ambush, Scout’s Honor delivers a  viscerally powerful aesthetic that doesn’t resemble anything else currently on the spinner rack.

Scout’s Honor #2 carries every bit of momentum from the first chapter and builds on it. The hits just keep coming, and the way this one leaves off, it doesn’t look like the tension will let up any time soon.
