Laurel Marsden Reportedly Joins ‘Ms. Marvel’ As Zoe Zimmer

The Ms. Marvel cast embiggens once more.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lauren Marsden has joined the cast as Zoe Zimmer. The character, created by G. Willow Wilson and Adrian Alphona, is something of a schoolyard bully when we first meet her in the pages of the Ms. Marvel comic. Formerly Kamala Khan’s friend, she would begin to tease her as they reached the age where superficial difference start to seem to matter and divide kids. In this case, Zoe’s began to tease Kamala and her other friends because they were Muslims.
She wised up after a time and developed a crush on Kamala’s friend Nakia.
In the Disney+ series, Iman Vellani stars as Kamala, who will presumably go through many of the same incidents as her comic book counterpart — although we wonder if it means the return of Inhumans and something like the Terrigenesis bomb over New York opening the series. The series will also feature Rish Shah, Mohan Kapur, Zenobia Shroff, Yasmeen Fletcher, Saagar Shaikh, and Matt Lintz. Behind the camera, Bisha K. Ali serves as showrunner while and Bad Boys For Life directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah and documentary short Oscar winner Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy helm individual episodes.
Production is currently underway with the program potentially beginning its run in late 2021.
