Ablaze Reveals ‘Space Pirate Captain Harlock’ #2 Variant Covers

Ablaze is launching a new Space Pirate Captain Harlock series this June from creator Leiji Matsumoto and artist Jerome Alquié. The publisher has revealed a set of five variant covers for the second issue, due out in July from Junggeun Yoon, Mirka Andolfo, Philippe Briones, Andy Tong, and Jerome Alquié.

The Earth’s government is not up to the task of protecting the planet from an impending invasion, so Captain Harlock and his crew take it on themselves. The space pirates rush to investigate a looming threat already implanted on Earth that will make a Mazon takeover that much more likely. Will they be able to meet this threat head on and eliminate it from the board before humankind is under siege from all sides?

Captain Harlock first appeared in a manga series in 1977 with an anime adaptation in 1978, then several feature features and television series. Now we prepare for new adventures in the stars.
