Genshin Impact Update ‘Beneath The Light Of Jadeite’ Releases April 28th

Genshin Impact continues to add new content to their game, as their latest update announces a ton of new content at the same time as the game launches on PlayStation 5.  Known as ‘The Light Of Jadeite’, Genshin Impact’s 1.5 Update will add two new characters in Eula and Yanfei.

Eula is a five-star character that’s a member of the Knights of Favonius who wields ice powers and a claymore weapon. She boasts a skill known as Icetide Vortex and her Elemental Burst damage is an AoE cryo spell, both of which make it hard to interrupt her attacks.

Yanfei is a four-star pyro user that helps people deal with the complex legal system of Liyue. By attacking with her normal, elemental skill, and elemental burst, Yanfei can gather scarlet seals that decrease her stamina consumption and increase the damage of her charged attack and Area of Effect spells.

In addition to these two new characters, players will also be able to have another chance to pull Zhongli, who will also get another Story Quest with this update.  Eula will also get her first story quest as she arrives to the game.

Fans of the Hangouts from update 1.4 will be able to do another hangout with Noelle, known as ‘Knightly Exam Prep’, and also a hangout with Diona, the bartender of The Cat’s Tail.

They’ll also be adding multiple new enemies, including Azhdaha, a new boss enemy known as the Lord of Vishaps. Azhdaha has the ability to change into multiple elements, changing his attack pattern as he switches between elements. The other major enemy being added is the Abyss Lector: Violet Lightning, who will rely on ranged attacks and both Hydro and Electro attacks.

The biggest non-combat addition to the game though is the Serenitea Pot, which will give players their own pocket realm they can enter and create fantasy homes with. The pocket realm will ask players to pick between a number of settings before creating a house that can be customized from room to room down to the actual furnishings within the house.

The PlayStation blog article posted by miHoYo’s technical director, Zhenzhong Yi, talks in more detail about all the changes coming to the game with the new update. Genshin Impact Version 1.5 will come to consoles (including PlayStation 5) and PC on April 28th.

And while it wasn’t mentioned in the blog, the livestream for Genshin Impact Version 1.5 also showed off some screens for the upcoming area, The Inazuma Region. No information was given about this region, though presumably it will be discussed with detail in the game’s 1.6 Update.
