‘Elvira: Mistress Of The Dark’ Vol. 1 Crowdfunding Campaign Set To End Thursday
by Erik Amaya
Attention boils and ghouls! It’s time for the Elvira: Mistress of the Dark crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo to expire.
Of course, having reached all but one of its stretch goals, this collection of Elvira’s long lost comic book series will see the light of day once more. The 600 page tome, to be published by Dynamite Entertainment, will feature work from talents like Kurt Busiek, Paul Dini, Richard Howell, Dave Cockrum, Mary Jo Duffy, and more. The series, originally published by Claypool Comics in the 1990s, sees Elvira (played on-screen by Cassandra Peterson) facing macabre monsters, getting involved with Hollywood shenanigans, and satirizing the pop culture of the day. And if you’ve ever seen an episode of Petersen’s creature feature show, Movie Macabre, or one of her many appearances out in TV land, the whole thing will feel familiar.
The Indiegogo campaign comes to a close at the Witching Hour (right around midnight) on Thursday, May 13th, so there is still time to pitch in and receive bonus goodies like a “Bloodcurdling Book Club” bookmark, a trading card, a sticker, a mini print, and a limited edition dust jacket featuring the Mistress of the Dark for those ordering the hardcover edition. Also, if the campaign hits a final $76,666 stretch goal, Elvira logo buttons get added to the kitty.
It feels like a certain corny joke should go here.
Those interested in joining the campaign can head over to the book’s Indiegogo page to learn how.
