In perhaps one of their more curious decisions, Sega has announced Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown coming to PlayStation 4. Yes, the game is specifically releasing for PlayStation 4. The game has been remade in Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio (responsible for the Yakuza games)’s Dragon Engine, with re-designed characters, stages, and cinematics. It will also allow for private rooms for sixteen players to experience round-robin League Matches, Tournament Matches, and more.
This game release is part of Sega’s ‘Virtua Fighter x eSports’ project, and will supposedly be available for PlayStation Plus this June. For now, Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown will be available for PlayStation 4 players (and PlayStation 5 players through backwards compatibility) June 1st.
