‘Summer Games Fest’ Announces “Kickoff” Event For June 10th
by Sage Ashford
Video game presenter extraordinaire Geoff Keighley brings back the Summer Game Fest starting with an opening kick-off event on June 10th. The original Summer Game Fest took the place of E3 last year after a mix of problems with the ESA and the pandemic making in-person conventions an impossibility. Though E3 is in full swing this year with a number of developers agreeing to return — including Capcom, Ubisoft, WBIE, and more — Summer Game Fest appears to be a new annual tradtion.
According to Keighley himself, the kick-off show will last around two hours and have over a dozen world premieres. It will be a mix of games from developers all across the gaming industry, including 2K Games, Bandai-Namco, Capcom, Electronic Arts, Microsoft, miHoYo, Sega, Sony Interactive, Square-Enix, Tencent, Warner Bros. Games, Wizards of the Coast, and many more. In line with some of Keighley’s other shows, like The Game Awards, the show will also feature live music by the band Weezer.
