The Legends of Tomorrow are reunited and it’s time to … get back to the mission? If this preview for next week’s show is any indication, aliens are still scattered across the timeline and the Waverider crew must divert to the Old West to deal with the latest disruption to time. Sure, they might be back to full strength (mostly), but certain changes still need to be explored. Or at least talked about. Will special guest director David Ramsey help with the discussion?
As we mentioned last week, the halfway mark usually features a pivot away from the Legends’ stated goal at the beginning of the season. And though they did manage to find Sara (Caity Lotz) — or, really, Sara found them — they’re are also keeping up with the alien thing, which is interesting. So, instead, our pivot seems to come from Sara being altered and what that might mean going forward. Also, we imagine Mick’s (Dominic Purcell) faraway looks when they left Kayla (Aliyah O’Brien) behind means his exit will have something to do with her. But we have to give this show credit for couching this episode in last season’s finale, lampshading it, and giving us that glimpse of a “Dark Nate” from an alternate timeline where Behrad’s (Shayan Sobhian) plan made things worse. That’s the sort of fun we like from this show.
Legends of Tomorrow airs Sundays on The CW.
