Bart Finally Joins The Family On Next Week’s Episode Of ‘The Flash’
by Erik Amaya
With The Flash heading for its final two Season 7 episodes, it was definitely time for Nora (Jessica Parker Kennedy) and Bart (Jordan Fisher) to show up.
But as this preview for next week’s episode indicates, the family reunion will be an odd one as Godspeed continues its assault on the present, Iris (Candice Patton) is stuck in the Still Force, and … well … even the preview narrator suggests darker tidings than usual. Oh, also, Jay Garrick (Wesley Allen Shipp) finally returns! Glad we finally get to see what he’s up to across the river in Keystone.
Meanwhile, this week offered some good Barry (Grant Gustin) story for a change. This feeling of powerless is a different vibe for our hero and it is something Gustin plays well. Sure, Barry’s been powerless in different ways before; usually leading to his usual guilt response. This time, though, having to put faith in people like Deon (Christian Magby) and Nora is something he is unaccustomed to, even at this point, and that means a story with some freshness to it for The Flash.
Also, we expect Barry getting used to Bart will also be fresh.
At the same time, we’ll be happy to see the end of the Kramer storyline. Presumably, she has the same power of immortality as her “brother,” but after spending so much time wither her as an antagonist, will really ever accept her as a hero?
Oh, also, we’ll be glad to see Diggle’s (David Ramsey) story get some resolution. If he really has the Green Lantern ring, his decision to refuse its summons is an interesting story. We’d just like the Arrowverse to be less coy about it. Maybe he’ll show the ring to Lois when he visits Superman & Lois in a couple of weeks.
The Flash airs Tuesdays on The CW.
