Will Next Week’s ‘Legends Of Tomorrow’ Audition A New Team Member?
by Erik Amaya
Despite Sara’s (Caity Lotz) misgivings, Legends of Tomorrow will feature an audition of sorts as the reconstituted Bishop (Raffi Barsoumian) tries to help the team with their current crises. And with Mick (Dominic Purcell) just about ready to give birth and Constantine (Matt Ryan) falling further into his addiction, maybe the megalomaniac who kidnapped Sara at the end of Season 5 may inadvertently help them. Then again, he could just be prepping for his next salvo against Sara.
This week, meanwhile, had a lot of fun stuff even if we’re still not overly thrilled with “Constantine’s an addict.” It’s a far more interesting story from Zari 2.0’s (Tala Ashe) point of view as she believes she loves him. But since she also saw the scar proving he was the Beast in the game, she may reappraise her feelings about him. That said, giving the story over to Zari is a more interesting angle than watching John act out the old “magic-as-drugs” cliches.
Granted, we may be jaded as we’ve seen the trope play out on a number of genre shows. To those less familiar with the concept, this will feel fresher. And since we know John’s story on Legends is coming to an end, it will be interesting to see if he manages to save himself one more time.
Also from the future, we know an episode will focus more on Spooner (Lisseth Chavez) and Astra’s (Olivia Swann) growing friendship. Considering how quick Spooner was to trust Astra in the game, we look forward to seeing more of it. Especially as it will be a very different dynamic from the “Science Bros” Nate (Nick Zano), Behrad (Shayan Sobhian), and Ray (Brandon Routh) formed back in the day.
Legends of Tomorrow airs Sundays on The CW.
