L.A. Comic Con is planning something big for its first in-person event in a while. Starting last summer, the convention began revealing their guests including Ming-Na Wen, Giancarlo Esposito, Zachary Levi, Tom Welling and Frank Miller. Their latest announcement provides a better idea of the scale of the show as it only gets larger.
L.A. Comic Con will be expanding and taking over the West Hall of the L.A. Convention Center. They are partnering with PCB Productions, a cross-platform content creation company for interactive, VR, film, television, and emerging media. This new expansion represents a first-of-its-kind experience where eSports, gaming, and anime will be brought together side-by-side with the traditional convention content of comics, movies, sci-fi, fantasy, horror, and all things pop-culture. While a full line-up of guests, panels, exhibitors and talent are in the South Hall, the West Hall expansion will feature:
- The Tiltify Arena – hosting professional and pro-am gaming matchups in addition to anime and gaming panels with top talent and fun prizing
- A LAN Gaming network set up with 60-80 state of the art computers, allowing fans to sign up to play the latest games competitively against fellow enthusiasts
- Intimate workshops and Panels hosted by Gaming and Anime talent, featuring their upcoming projects
- Unique autograph/photograph opportunities with Voice casts from award-winning video game franchises and anime shows
Since L.A. Comic Con is taking place in December, fans will also have the opportunity to participate in Thankmas, an annual fundraising campaign to help end global homelessness. The initiative is led by YouTuber Jacksepticeye to benefit New Story, a nonprofit who sources new solutions, like 3D printing, to help teams everywhere build better, faster, and more cost-effective homes.
L.A. Comic Con will be held from December 3rd – 5th 2021. Tickets are still available to be purchased – single-session passes are $35–$45, and multi-session passes are $90. A limited number of VIP tickets are still available. Check out guests, schedules, and ticket packages at www.comicconla.com.
