The CW’s mid-season schedule means a whole new superhero Tuesday.

The network announced Friday its schedule for the first part of 2022, and while it mostly stays the same, Tuesdays will be completely different. Starting January 11th, Superman & Lois takes over the 8pm, formerly held by Stargirl and the traditional timeslot of The Flash — which returns in two weeks for a five-episode event. 9pm will become the home of freshman series Naomi, based on the DC Comics character created by Brian Micheal Bendis, David F. Walker and Jamal Campbell. Legends of Tomorrow and Batwoman return January 12th, but Legends will hand off its slot to The Flash on March 9th. Presumably, it will end its season the week before. We’re going to assume Batwoman will also finish its season in February as well, seeing as Kung-Fu will take its timeslot the same night as The Flash returns in March.

But also surprising: Riverdale is decamping to Sunday nights at 8pm, leaving its long-held mid-week perch behind. Moving a drama to that night makes a certain amount of sense. It will be interesting to see if it bolsters the day the way Supergirl did once upon a time.

The CW’s mid-season schedule goes into effect the week of January 10th.
