‘Giulietta Romero: Hitwoman’ Gets Her Own Special This December

by Erik Amaya

Giulietta Romero is a bandage-masked hit-woman who caused quite a stir in the recent Jennifer Blood series. And now she’ll be the star of her one-shot special this December from Dynamite.

Jennifer Blood Presents … Giulietta Romeo: Hitwoman sees the character facing her own noirish re-imagining of William Shakespeare‘s The Tempest. Giulietta is being extradited to Italy after the events of the Jennifer Blood “Bountiful” storyline when her plane is shot down over a remote island in the Atlantic. The forgotten isle is a disused Nazi stronghold that is now the postage stamp kingdom of a former duke of the Naples mob who goes by the name “Prospero.” His brother — the man who usurped his position — was being extradited on that same plane, and Giulietta finds herself in the middle of a gory blood feud while fighting against Prospero’s monstrous servants, Caliban and Ariel.

“I think all readers will really love the Hot New Crime Writer of 2022, William “Bloody Billy” Shakespeare,” writer Fred Van Lente said in a statement. “I’m just the vessel that is bringing the island mob vengeance saga The Tempest to life.” The statement also stated that while Shakespeare could not be reached for comment, he has been known to say “Hell is empty and all the devils are here.”

Joining Van Lente is artist Robert Carey, who will illustrate the entire one-shot. Additionally, the title will be supported by covers from Lesley “Leirix” Li, Drew Moss and Valentina Pinti.

Jennifer Blood Presents … Giulietta Romeo: Hitwoman is due out this December from Dynamite Entertainment.
