‘The Experience’ To Raise Money For Fat Jack’s Comicrypt This Friday

by Erik Amaya

The Experience continues its helpful fundraising with this week’s original art show.

This time, the goodwill centers on Philadelphia’s Fat Jack’s Comicrypt, one of the country’s oldest direct market comic book stores. Despite operating in the city (and a few other locations) for nearly 50 years, the pandemic and other economic upsets have put the store on shakier footing. In fact, staff have set up a GoFundMe for those who can lend some support.

Of course, The Experience and Dynamite’s Nick Barrucci want to help by offering original comic art pages, covers, and sketch pieces for auction with proceeds going to Fat Jacks. Items on offer include an inked page by the legendary Jae Lee featuring Wolverine and the Punisher and a special Captain America commission, with all funds from these sales going to Fat Jack’s. The cover to the recently released Amazing Spider-Man #13 by John Romita Jr. will also be featured. A selection of four pages from Brave and the Bold #135 by Jim Aparo are included from Barrucci’s private collection, with all sales from the Aparo pages going to Fat Jack’s, too. Additional items include Vampirella and Red Sonja pieces done by artist Jaime Biggs in homage to iconic Todd McFarlane covers and more.

Those interested in the items can head over The Experience‘s landing page for the show, with will stream live at 7pm ET/4pm PT on Friday, December 23rd.
