Bethesda’s ‘Starfield’ Releasing September 6th; More Info Coming June 11th

Bethesda’s long-awaited new IP, Starfield, finally has a new release date. The open-world (galaxy?) RPG is now releasing September 6th. Originally scheduled for a release date of November 11th, 2022, the game was delayed prior to Bethesda’s Summer Showcase last year to a nebulous “first half 2023”.
With this announcement, the game is delayed once again into the Fall. Although the game was already considered Xbox’s “big” title for the year, this delay means the game has basically dodged having to compete with the major releases coming out in the Spring and Summer, like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Diablo IV, and Final Fantasy XVI. This doesn’t mean it won’t still be duking it out with titles like Spider-Man 2 and any other surprise Fall releases, however.
Fans looking for more info on Starfield will have a bit of a wait though; a “Starfield Direct” is scheduled for June 11th, directly after the Xbox Games Showcase.
