Rebel Wolves Offers A Deep Dive Into ‘The Blood Of Dawnwalker’
by Sage Ashford
After revealing the title earlier this year, developer Rebel Wolves has been quite busy showing off their upcoming open-world RPG, The Blood of Dawnwalker. Most recently, they’ve offered a look at a story trailer that lays out the game’s main premise of playing as a partial vampire battling a group of vampires building an empire in 14th century Europe. This comes just after a gameplay overview released just a few weeks prior:
The world of The Blood of Dawnwalker feels similar to The Witcher 3, which makes sense as the game is developed by former CDProjekt staff. However, the focus on vampires as the main enemy helps delineate from The Witcher universe.
Yet the entire world doesn’t seem to be completely about vampires, as both the story trailer and gameplay overview offer glimpses of other magical races, and even steampunk-styled robots. Given a 40+ hour RPG about nothing but vampires would undoubtedly get old, hopefully this will help the universe stand out more.
The Blood of Dawnwalker might also be picking the perfect time to release, as it’s scheduled for 2026. With The Witcher 4 a 2027 game at the earliest, perhaps this can help fans scratch that itch of a medieval fantasy game for a while?
