Funko Announces New ‘Star Wars Rivals’ Expandable Strategy Game

Funko is one of the biggest pop culture brands around. They team up with many fan favorite franchises to deliver a vast array of products. With Star Wars Celebration coming up, the company recently announced an all-new expandable strategy game.
Star Wars Rivals will feature a battle between light and dark to determine the fate of the galaxy. Players will build teams of various iconic characters to take control of familiar locales. The object of the game is to collect the most location cards.
Each character you choose has three unique action cards featuring exciting abilities, creating endless strategies when combined with other characters during their war for the galaxy. Star Wars Rivals also offers fans never-before-seen art stylization in miniature sculpts and card art providing fresh new aesthetics.
The Premier Set has four character-themed game movers and character cards, an exclusive prism die, 14 action cards, 18 tokens and markers, and 12 location cards, which include four that are exclusive to the set. The game system features quick-paced gameplay that’s accessible with dice-rolling and card revealing moments that supplies challenges for Star Wars fans of all skill levels. Further build your troops through the Light Side and Dark Side Character Booster Packs. They contain one character-themed game mover and character card, two location cards, game die, five action cards, 16 tokens and markers. You don’t even need the Premier Sets if you purchase enough Booster Packs. Below are details for both the Premier Set and Booster Packs.

Star Wars Rivals will be available at retailers everywhere later this year. However, if you can’t wait and will be attending Star Wars Celebration, a limited pre-release sale for all Star Wars Rivals products will occur at the vent from April 7-10, 2023. Coinciding with another Star Wars holiday, the Premier set will be available starting May 4, 2023, with availability in all U.S. Walmart store locations early June 2023. The game will be available at retailers everywhere later this year.
