Three More Good Looking Graphic Novels Announced From Avery Hill For Autumn 2023

Avery Hill Publishing, always a guarantee of quality, announces three books for their autumn list 2023.

 

There are some publishers who always deliver and, in the many years I’ve been reading them and covering them, Avery Hill Publishing is one of those. No matter what the book, no matter who’s involved, whatever they publish is well worth a look, never less than great comics.

And so it is with the three books they’ve just announced for Autumn 2023 – The Hard Switch by Owen D. Pomery, Curses by George Wylesol, and The Wilderness Collection by Claire Scully.

I’ve looked at previous works by all three authors here at Comicon in the past and they all consistently put out great comics. If you want a look at what I thought of previous works by them all, take a look at these… Outer Wilderness by Claire Scully, Victory Point and British Ice by Owen D. Pomery, and 2120 by George Wylesol.

All of them are excellent comics, fascinating, exploratory, inventive, and well worth you having a look at. And the three new works by Pomery, Wylesol, and Scully look every bit as good.

Avery Hill’s commissioning editor Ricky Miller had this to say of the new list:

It’s one of the most visually striking lineups we’ve ever had, three creators with very different art styles, but all brilliant at what they do. They’re creators we’ve worked with several times before and we were the first people to publish books by them, and it’s great to have been able to help them along in their development and also for us to develop with them.

I can only agree and echo everything Miller’s said there. All three creators exemplify what I love about Avery Hill and I’m looking forward to reading them all – and telling you all about them – later in the year.

The Hard Switch – by Owen D. Pomery

Pomery’s a professional architectural illustrator whose comics are beautiful things, mixing his architectural stylings with engrossing stories. This new book is his first proper sci-fi story and one that I’m really excited for. Just the cover and the page above show you just why.
