I love Dave McKean‘s work. So I would for sure be considered a “fan of the legendary artist.” So when the press release came across my desk that said “Fans of legendary artist Dave McKean have reason to be excited,” I was indeed excited!
Dark Horse Books is set to release Thalamus: The Art of Dave McKean this Fall. This comprehensive collection of his work spans 600 pages and features images from some of the most iconic modern comics, literature, film, and music I have ever set my eyes on.
The collection includes pieces from Neil Gaiman‘s The Sandman, Mirrormask, Arkham Asylum, Black Dog, and Raptor, among others. And I am super excited about the never-before-seen bonus material and commentary by McKean himself.
Thalamus: The Art of Dave McKean is two hardcover volumes featuring satin ribbon bookmarks that are housed in a beautiful slipcase displaying new original artwork by McKean. The set measures 10.5 x 14″, making it a solid addition to any bookshelf, bedside, or coffee table.
The collection also includes a foreword by David Boyd Haycock, adding some insight into McKean’s annotations. This book is going to be a rad opportunity for fans to experience the full breadth of Dave McKean’s artistic genius in a single work.
