Could Marvel’s Ultimate Universe Be Returning?

I keep getting older but the X-Men seem to be getting younger. Look at Wolverine on this cover. My dude looks like he could be in a 90’s pop-punk band with a top song on TRL*. The bigger question though, is could Marvel’s Ultimate Universe be returning?
I’m sure that question is on a lot of people’s minds as comic shops start to gear up for Ultimate Invasion!
Crafted by two of the comic’s most well-received creators, writer Jonathan Hickman and artist Bryan Hitch, Ultimate Invasion will start the next chapter of the Ultimate Universe and set the stage for what is beyond.
The four-issue saga starts when the Maker, who has been living on Earth-616 since the destruction of the Ultimate Universe, hatches a plan to destroy, or maybe rebuild depending on your perspective, this universe. With universe alterations at play you know the Illuminati will reunite to stop him at all costs.
To celebrate this POTENTIAL return to the beloved and groundbreaking characters and stories of the line, Ultimate X-Men superstar Russell Dauterman has drawn a really rad variant cover spotlighting the Ultimate versions of Jean Grey and Wolverine. Seriously though, he looks like he could be up there with Carson Daily talking about the MTV Music Awards or something. It’s just rad looking in my opinion. I dig the vibe of this whole project so much.

*TRL – Total Request Live – Back when man hunted mammoth with a pointy stick across frozen tundra we had this afternoon show on TV where a guy with very fashionable clothing stood in front of a bunch of screaming music fans and showed the top music videos in the land. The selection of videos was allegedly picked based on votes from people calling in all day or voting online. I did not care about it until 1999 when Duel of the Fates, that song from Star Wars Episode 1 was on for a few months in a row. It was wild to see Darth Maul fighting Jedi to this amazing movie score alongside random music that everyone at school had band shirts of. It was a super strange time.
