‘Dark Deity 2’ Trailer Reminds Us Classic Strategy Gaming Isn’t Dead
by Sage Ashford
Developer Sword & Axe premiered their first look at Dark Deity II during the Guerilla Collective. A follow-up to the popular strategy RPG Dark Deity, this new game takes place 25 years later. In this time, the Eternal Order finds Verroa under threat by the Holy Asverellian Empire, with only a ragtag collection of soldiers there to protect it.
Dark Deity II grants access to 20 different heroes and 45 classes, allowing players to customize as they wish. Meanwhile, the story is deeper than ever, thanks to the factions players can choose to support or ignore. With designs similar to classic Fire Emblem and customization options similar to Tactics Ogre, Dark Deity II seems aims to prove classic strategy RPGs are still alive and well.
Currently, Dark Deity II is releasing for Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store.
