Yo-Ho-Ho!: ‘MÖRK BORG’ Spin-Off ‘PIRATE BORG’ Sets Sail In September

by Anton Kromoff

Welcome to the table,

I love high-seas adventures. Between watching One Piece almost every night for the last few years and the hydro-punk TTRPG I’ve written that will be published later this year the sea is always front of mind.

So when one of my favorite publishers Free League announced their newest MÖRK BORG RPG spin-off PIRATE BORG I got super excited.

Set to be released on International Talk Like a Pirate Day, September 19, PIRATE BORG is inspired by history, fantasy, horror, and (checks notes) “rum!”

The pre-order is now up at the Free League webstore and gives immediate access to the PDFs ahead of the official release so those who don’t mind reading digitally will be able to get their hands on this right away. The game will also be available for a sneak peek at Gen Con 2023 at the Free League booth.

PIRATE BORG is a game about being a filthy scoundrel.

Find a ship…Recruit some crew.

Raid, pillage, plunder, and otherwise pilfer your weasley black guts out.

Get a bigger ship… repeat. Savvy?

This game is set to be full of raiding, treasure hunting, and fleeing in terror from giant undersea beasts all while trying not to get killed by the sea or your crew. Honestly, it sounds like it’s going to be one hell of a good time.

PIRATE BORG is written and illustrated by Luke Stratton, also known as Limithron, who is known for his pirate-themed battle maps.

Until next time, shiver those timbers!
