This month we have three new translations of Euro material, including the first adventures of Rin Tin Can (Rantanplan in the French), who had previously featured in many a Lucky Luke album, as created by René Goscinny and Morris. Rin Tin Can/Rantanplan is everything Luke’s horse, Jolly Jumper, isn’t – dumb as a brick, accident-prone, extremely slow. Add in his complete inability to do his job as a prison guard properly and it’s no wonder Jolly Jumper always has an air of contempt around him. Rin Tin Can’s usually to be found assisting/hindering Luke in the tracking down of the Daltons, often stupidly mistaking Joe Dalton for his beloved owner, not something that goes down well with Joe.

This first volume of Rin Tin Can‘s English-translated adventures begins in ‘The Mascot‘, first published in 1987 by Daraud.
Alongside that, we have Highlands Book 1, written and drawn by Philippe Aymond, a Euro historical epic, this time set in Scotland in the 1700s, and Redbeard Book 1: A Short Drop and a Sudden Stop, by Jean-Charles Kraehn and Stefano Carloni, another historical tale, again in the 1700s, but this time taking place in the Caribbean, where Redbeard, once the terror of the Seven Seas, has partially retired and serves as a privateer in the service of the King of France.
So, three to look forward to for the end of July… Now, a cover preview and a little Cinebook PR:
