Webcomic Weekly: David Blumenstein On A.I.

Webcomic Weekly, Comicon’s impressively irregular and mistitled column – highlighting whatever good stuff I’ve seen online and free to read for you – this week, David Blumenstein has a few things to say about A.I.

Right, I know A.I. is something we’re all going to have to deal with and I’m sure it will have many, many great uses in so many fields. But unfortunately, far too much A.I. art relies on theft, stealing the work of real artists to create whatever they do. And it’s the theft of art that’s most concerning to me and something that we’re all vehemently opposed to here at Comicon – I’ll certainly never knowingly put any A.I. generated art in front of your eyeballs here.

So anyway, now on to David Blumenstein’s comic on FWB, Octane Render, which has a few important things to say about A.I. – he’s perhaps not so anti-A.I. as many are, including me, but it’s a damn good comic making plenty of fascinating points.
