Skybound Celebrates 20 Years Of ‘The Walking Dead’ With Weekly Releases Through October

Skybound has announced plans to celebrate the 20th anniversary of The Walking Dead comic series across the whole month of October with the weekly release of The Walking Dead Deluxe. And, these releases will feature a bumper crop of variant covers (for The Walking Dead Deluxe #72-75) by the likes of J.H. Williams III (Detective Comics, Batwoman), ongoing The Walking Dead Deluxe variant artist Julian Totino Tedesco, Joe Quesada (Amazing Spider-Man, Daredevil, Batman) and more.

Plus, there will be a special old-school style Newsprint Edition of The Walking Dead Deluxe #1 available on Wednesday October 11, 2023.

Speaking of the anniversary, co-creator Robert Kirkman said:

“I can’t believe we’re already celebrating 20 years of The Walking Dead! What an insane benchmark for us to reach and to have the deluxe color reprint series reaching its 75th issue in this moment is just staggering. These are the greatest fans in the world and their support of this world is unprecedented. I’m so thankful for all the things they’ve allowed us to accomplish.”

The Walking Dead Deluxe ( will be available in stores  and on digital platforms every Wednesday of October 2023.
