Dark Horse Comics Announces San Diego Comic-Con 2023 Exclusives — Part One

While I won’t be at San Diego Comic-Con this year, there are a ton of exclusives from Dark Horse Comics that I sure wish I was there to pick up, and you can rest assured that the amazing Comicon team that is on location will be covering all the breaking news!
For now, though, let’s talk about these Dark Horse SDCC exclusives. All of these are going to be debuting at SDCC and are only available at the Dark Horse Comics booth #2615. They are all limited in supply, so act fast or you could miss out. As a note, all these prices are based on the information we have received, and while I don’t imagine them changing, the world is a chaotic place. Speaking of Chaos, check out the first SDCC-exclusive comic offering!
The Oddly Pedestrian Life of Christopher Chaos Issue #1 (You can find my review here, it’s a super rad book) has a Nick Robles Foil Variant, limited to 1000 copies and will be available for $25 with a limit of 5 per person per day.
Koshchei in Hell #1 will have a Ben Stenbeck Black and White Variant. This Issue #1 of Koshchei in Hell will get a gruesome make-over for this convention-exclusive variant. These will be limited to 1000 copies and will be available for $20 with a limit of 5 per person per day.
The Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories Annual–Jaxxon 2023 – Mike Mignola Black & White Variant will be offered with a virgin (no logos or title treatment) black and white cover variant featuring Mike Mignola’s unique artwork. These will be limited to 1500 copies at the Dark Horse Booth, and 500 copies will be available online exclusively via Dark Horse Direct. The price is said to be $25 with a limit of 5 per person per day.
The Usagi Yojimbo: Ice and Snow #1 Blue Foil Dark Horse Convention Preview will give readers a taste of the latest tale of the Legendary Rabbit Ronin himself. The new series features Usagi’s newfound cousin Yukichi, as well as the return of fan-favorite villain, Jei. Along with writing, art, and lettering by Sakai, the series also features colors by HiFi Colour Design. This blue foil preview issue is limited to only 500 copies and is said to be available for $25 with a limit of 5 per person per day.
There is going to be a Minor Threats Fine Art Print featuring the character Scalpel. This print is a 16” x 23” lithograph styled like the iconic VHS slipcover that came right from the best video store in Twilight City. Printed with 4x0c printing with Flood Matte Varnish on 100# Cougar opaque cover smooth natural stock paper, rolled and tubed with slip sheet. These will be hand-numbered and will be available to be signed if you have a wristband for a signing session in order to receive signatures by series creators Patton Oswalt, Jordan Blum, Scott Hepburn, Nate Piekos, and print artist Joëlle Jones. There are only 250 of these available and they will be priced at $50 with a limit of 1 per customer.
Below you are going to see the exclusive Critical Role: Vox Machina Origins Pin Sets. Two sets of Limited Edition enamel pins featuring the beloved band of heroes will be available exclusively at the Dark Horse Comics booth. These pins feature the incredible art from the Critical Role: Vox Machina Origins comic series by Olivia Samson.
The Critical Role: Vox Machina Origins Pin Set I includes Vex’ahlia, Vax’ildan, Percival Fredrickstein Von Musel Klossowski de Rolo III & Keyleth (Dark Horse Convention Exclusive) includes four pins each approximately 1.75” in height made of zinc alloy with copper plating. Weighing approximately 2 oz each and featuring a 5.9” x 5.12” backing card in a polybag. There will only be 1000 sets made, making these a true Critter collector’s item. Move swiftly and secure your set for $20. They are limited to 5 per person per day.
The Critical Role: Vox Machina Origins Pin Set II features Grog Strongjaw, Pike Trickfoot, Scanlan Shorthalt & Vex’ahlia, and Keyleth on Trinket (Convention Exclusive) and rounds out the party. Pin Set II is limited to 1000 sets and will also cost $20 and is limited to 5 per person per day.
