Preview: ‘BRZRKR: Poetry Of Madness’ Is Poetry In Motion!

When I write, I need sound. The required sound can’t be music, because it tends to distract me unless it hits a very specific vibe. The required sound can’t be most TV shows, because I tend to get irritated by the weird story structure or the overuse of the same repetitive music beats that score the show. It’s fine when you are watching it to watch it, but I find when it’s background it becomes distracting very quickly.
Weirdly one of the things I have found works for me as background sound, is none other than the John Wick series of films. Something about the rhythm of them or the cadence of the dialog or all the random gunfights gets me into a space where I can work for hours just jumping from one movie to the next. I can typically get large chunks of work done when I put them on and they work so effectively that I worry about using them all the time on the off chance they lose their effect.
So why am I talking about John Wick? Because Keanu Reeves, the infamous John Wick himself, and my sonic muse in a weird sort of way, has a rad comic called BRZRKR, and BRZRKR has a super rad one-shot adventure called BRZRKR: Poetry of Madness!
Reeves’ immortal warrior meets eldritch horror in this first BRZRKR one-shot adventure and it’s freaking fantastic!
As expected there is a sea of gore and devastation that awaits as B, through a fateful chance encounter, safeguards the advanced and ancient realm of Atlantis as its unstoppable protector.
This is sword and sorcery meets… well, meets John Wick in a really fun way. I actually got a big stupid grin reading this book and you will get a more detailed review down the road but trust me… you want to pre-order this thing if you play D&D, read fantasy books, or are into high-fantasy blood baths.
Keanu Reeves joins acclaimed writer and artist Steve Skroce for this one-shot special and you are not going to want to miss this.
