Gen Con ’23: Free League Takes Us To Dunwich

Welcome to the table,
I have always loved pulp horror and weird fiction. The work of H.P. Lovecraft fascinates me, but the original material can often be hard for me to enjoy, because of how much of the work is deeply problematic. I know a lot of people say “It’s a product of its time” but looking at the news cycle and the current state of social media, that time of racist xenophobia is clearly not a thing of the past. We just have to deal with it with much lest space squid clerics and strange eldrich entities.
I do like it when artists showcase their interpretations of the Eldrich tales though and Free League is bringing us an illustrated The Dunwich Horror by acclaimed artist François Baranger.
In this offering you will enter the desolate, decrepit Massachusetts village of Dunwich in a story of dark rituals, witchcraft and the ever looming shadow of the Old Ones.
The Dunwich Horror is for sure a classic of American horror and is a dark tale of powers from beyond our world and the influences they can have upon the known realities that mankind inhabits. The book is set to be released later this year and is now available for pre-order at the Free League webstore, where the previously published The Call of Cthulhu and At the Mountains of Madness are also available.
