Savage Red Sonja is on her way.
Dynamite announced Thursday that the upcoming Red Sonja miniseries will debut in November. Written by Dan Panosian, it sees Sonja tracking down a fabled gem from in a ruined kingdom. But on the way, she encounters a wandering prince as his redheaded bride. Their meeting is interrupted, of course, when a beast from below crashes the party. The tale of mystery, suspense, and the supernatural that follows will also hearken back to the work of Robert E. Howard, who outlined the days of high adventure Sonja now inhabits.
“We all have doubts about the paths in life we’ve chosen. This story explores the course Red Sonja’s life has taken and how it has affected her,” Panosian added in a statement. “Does she have any misgivings? Doubts? Fears? Regrets? Couple that with a very mysterious adventure and you have Savage Red Sonja!”
Joining him in creating this tale are artist Alessio Petillo, colorist Francesco Segala, and letterer Dave Sharpe. Panosian will also provide covers while Frank Cho and Arthur Adams offer variant covers. Additionally, Rachel Hollon takes center stage on issue #1’s cosplay cover.
