Take A Look At WizKids’ ‘Phandelver And Below: The Shattered Obelisk’ Minis!

by Anton Kromoff

Welcome to the table,

With the exception of a Rick & Morty-themed offering, I have every D&D 5e book that has come to market so far. I get the regular covers, as I started collecting them that way and have not, as of yet, gone back and collected the alternate covers. Some have been great, and some have had some issues, but the most recent, Phandelver and Below: The Shattered Obelisk is, so far, turning out to be a really solid addition to the Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition library.

WizKids has swung in with some really great minis to support this book that dropped yesterday, September 20th, as of the time I am writing this. They are currently teasing out images of the minis on their Instagram account and I will have a deep dive into this set in the coming weeks as I dig through the book. But for now, check out these cool preview packing shots for this upcoming set.

Above is one of the blind booster packs for the Icons of the Realms line of pre-painted Dungeons & Dragons miniatures, featuring characters new and old to enhance your Phandelver and Below: The Shattered Obelisk adventures. You can collect all 47 miniatures from the newest set of randomly sorted monsters and characters featuring villains. These include Nezznar the Spider, and nightmarish monsters like the grotesque Otyugh Mutate and Ettin Ceremorph. These boosters come in one of two flavors, a single booster or an 8-count booster brick. Each single booster box contains 1 large mini and 3 medium or small minis. You can preorder those at this link.

One of the super cool things that WizKids is also doing is releasing a Limited Edition Boxed Set that will contain three medium and small-sized creatures, one large-sized creature, and one huge-sized creature. Each figure has a paint scheme unique to this box, with the Flesh Meld being a miniature exclusive to this boxed set. These alt-colored creatures are perfect for advanced encounters and adding some spice to the table. You can preorder them at this link.

Phandelver and Below: The Shattered Obelisk is shaping up to be a standout of the recent D&D books and I for sure am looking forward to diving in deeper and exploring it and these amazing new minis from WizKids.

Until next time, Lowarnizel is rad… more on them soon.
