Top Cow Entertainment have revealed their plans for the upcoming New York Comic Con happening over October 12 – 15th at the Javits Center in New York.

Welcome to Comic Con, educators! The halls are filled with toy, comic, and art dealers, creators, celebrities, and cosplayers. Educators, too, come to seek out gems for their classroom. How do we move through the show, what challenges await teachers and librarians, and where should we go to find the best resources? A panel of teachers, creators, and publishers will pull together to help you figure out how to make the most of your comic con experience.

PORTFOLIOS WORKSHOP AND REVIEW

Learn what to include and leave out of your portfolio for pencilers, inkers, colorists, and letterers. Editors and publishers are looking for new talent. This highly interactive workshop will share useful guides for maximizing your professional portfolio for in-person and online submissions. As a bonus, 5 aspiring creators will be selected to get real-time feedback from our panel of editors and pros. This essential training is advised for creators of all levels, but special focus will be on creators who are seeking professional, paid work in comic books for independent and mainstream publishers.
