NYCC 2023: Greg Pak And Giulia Giacomino To Guide ‘Lilo & Stitch’

Lilo & Stitch are back — in comics!

As part of a week of New York Comic Con announcements, Dynamite revealed early on Monday that the 2002 film will be getting its own comic book courtesy of Greg Pak And Giulia Giacomino. Picking up from the film, as opposed to some of the spinoff media, Stitch is living his best life in Hawaii with Lilo and her sister, Nani. But trouble comes for Experiment 626 when a robot makes landfall looking for a sample of Stitch’s DNA. It leads to a chase across the world as he hopes to protect his family — which still includes Dr. Jumba and Agent Pleakley, social worker Cobra Bubbles, and Nani’s boyfriend David — and curb some of his more destructive tendencies. But will he ever be able to go home again?

“The Lilo & Stitch movie blew me away back in the day with its gorgeous, organic animation and its hugely fun sci-fi elements,” Pak said in a statement. “But above all else, I loved its focus on the everyday struggles of an incredibly relatable family on the edge and a little girl and a little monster who somehow manage to save each other. It’s a thrill to have the chance to work on this new series with this tremendous team.”
