Go Behind The Scenes of ‘Ballerina’

Ballerina is an action thriller directed by Lee Chung-hyun. Together with music director GRAY, and art director Kim Min-hye, three directors discuss the creative process of bringing Ballerina to life. In my review I said that in Ballerina the way the story is told is just as important as the story itself. This sentiment was echoed by the creators who put a lot of thought into the design of the film. The colors, music, and sets were all stylized to convey the lead character’s inner thoughts and emotions.The result is a film that’s emotionally gripping even when the protagonist has very little dialogue.
I love this style of action filmmaking that leans more aesthetic and rewards the viewers for their intelligence. Ballerina is a prime example of a New Wave of action films that embrace emotionality, artistry, and visceral fight choreography. I greatly anticipate what this creative team will do next!
