‘Tekken 8’ Adds New Character Reina…Who Might Be A Mishima?

During a special Tekken 7 tournament event, Bandai-Namco revealed the final character being added to the Tekken 8 roster. Another newcomer, Reina is an acrobatic fighter with a number of techniques that look quite similar to Mishima-style karate, like the Wind God Fist and the Spinning Demon. Additionally, judging from her conversations in the trailer, Mishima connections are being more than just implied.
The current theory is that she’s Heihachi’s daughter, bolstered by people digging up an old tweet from Tekken director Katsuhiro Harada. In the tweet, Harada mentioned Heihachi having between 18-25 illegitimate children, meaning at any moment they could introduce yet another. Whoever she is, fans will be able to play as her soon.
Tekken 8 releases on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Steam on January 26th.
