Mad Cave Studios Brings ‘Flash Gordon’ And ‘Gatchman’ To Free Comic Book Day

The planning for next May’s Free Comic Book Day is well underway – and publisher Mad Cave Studios is using the geek holiday to showcase two of its new titles.
May 4, 2024 will see Mad Cave releasing its new properties Flash Gordon and Gatchaman as well as Asterix and The Loud House as part of FCBD’ silver titles.
In Flash Gordon, writer Jeremy Adams and cover artist Dan Panosian pit the hero, Dale Arden, and Hans Zarkov against the evil Ming the Merciless. The villain is hoping to use his unraveller, a machine that unwinds an object to its subatomic structure in a massive burst of energy.
Cullen Bunn, Tommy Lee Edwards, and Steve Orlando team up to write Gatchaman, with a cover by industry veteran Chris Samnee. In it, the International Science Organization’s Science Ninja Team must battle Galactor, a terrorist organization that wants to control the Earth and its natural resources. The three stories within the book feature Ken the Eagle, Jun the Swan, and Ryū the Owl that set up future tales.
From Mad Cave’s Papercutz imprint, Asterix celebrates the upcoming Olympic Games. Writer Rene Goscinny and artist Albert Uderzo give readers a newly translated commentary on swimming, rugby, and, of course, boar-eating.
Nickelodeon’s The Loud House features Lincoln Loud, his 10 sisters, and buddy Clyde as they navigate life in a large household. The issues features a mix of classic tales and some surprises for readers.
