Comics Advisory Group Offering $500 Mini Grants To Creators

by Tom Smithyman

Comic book creators who are having a difficult time making ends meet can apply for a $500 mini grant from Comics Advisory Group.

Comics Advisory Group, a non-profit organization dedicated to making comics careers more accessible, is offering 30 such grants. Applicants must reside in the United States and write or draw comics. Creators will need to link to their website or portfolio and explain how the mini grant will help them with their project. While the grants are intended to help creators focus on their work by offsetting rising food and housing costs, the $500 may be spent on anything.

The organization is also asking for tax-deductible donations to help fund the mini grants, to create a resource hub for the comics community, and to develop a long-term compensation survey for the profession.

Applications for the mini grants close January 15, 2024. Selections will be made by February 12.
