Adult Animation Revolution: Most Anticipated Anime of 2024

Whether you’re a long time anime fan or are curious as to what all the buzz is about, 2024 looks like a great year for peak anime. Japanese anime continues to be lightyears ahead of most American animation in terms of genre variety and maturity. The following is a list of the most anticipated anime of 2024.
Dead Dead Demons Dedededede Destruction
Based on the manga by Inio Asano (Goodnight Punpun) Dead Dead Demons Dedededede Destruction is about a group of middle school girls who live under the shadow of a UFO. Asano’s razor-sharp writing has a knack to cutting into contemporary anxieties. This may prove to be a cathartic series for the youth growing up in a world that always appears to be on the brink of destruction.
Chained Soldier
Based on the manga by Takahiro (Akame ga Kill) Chained Soldier is an Ecchi Harem action series best described as femdom Attack on Titan. In a world besieged by demons only women can use the power of Peaches to defeat them. But when a boy named Yuki gains the ability to make Peaches more effective– he’ll become the submissive solider under the commander of the Anti-Demon Corp.
Suicide Squad ISEKAI
Warner Bros. Japan and WIT Studio have teamed up to create an all-new original anime series titled Suicide Squad: Isekai. The anime will take familiar villains from the DC Comics and transport them to another world. My Adventures With Superman proved that DC characters work really well in an anime style– so fans should look forward to Suicide Squad: Isekai when it comes out this year.
Kaiju No.8
Kaiju No.8 is about a man working as part of a clean-up crew for Kaiju attacks who gains the ability to morph into a human-kaiju hybrid. Fans of the manga have insisted that the plot gets more compelling and surprising as the series goes along. The premise is like Devilman but with Kaijus and could appeal to fans of Ultramega or Attack on Titan.
The Elusive Samurai
The Elusive Samurai is an adventure series set in Feudal Japan by Yusei Matsui (Assassination Classroom). When a young boy’s clan is wiped out, he must use his skills at evasion and cunning to assemble allies and seek out revenge. Matsui’s work on Assassination Classroom was quite charming and it’ll be great to see another cute boy as a shonen hero.
Dandadan
Dandadan is a smash-hit manga series with likeable characters and a wickedly fun plot. The story follows Momo Ayase, who believes in ghosts but not aliens and starts an unlikely friendship with Okarun who believes in aliens but not ghosts. As it turns out, both ghosts and aliens are real and it’s up to these two teens to stop them from destroying Japan!
Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc
Chainsaw Man kickstarted a new era for the shonen genre delivering compelling characters, bloody action, and an unorthodox plot. The next manga arc will be adapted as a film and focus on Denji meeting a mysterious new girl named Reze. Fans of the anime should prepare to have their heart curb-stomped and their mind blown.
