Celebrate Columbia Pictures’ 100th Anniversary With Pop Culture Personality Quiz

by David Lewis

So, you’re a movie and TV fan. But are you more action-adventure or romantic comedy? More of a Taxi Driver or a Funny Girl? Are you more likely to quote George Jefferson or Jerry Seinfeld?

Sony Pictures is here to help you answer those burning questions with a new personality quiz designed to celebrate Columbia Pictures’ 100th anniversary.

The quiz invites fans to harness the studio’s most iconic films and series — from classics like On the Waterfront and Lawrence of Arabia to recent hits such as Breaking Bad and Little Women — to discover more about their pop culture personality. You then have the option to share it with friends over social media (just like in the 2010 Columbia film The Social Network!).

As Sony Pictures Entertainment’s Rose Phillips explains it, “This is a chance for fans to relive or rediscover our cherished titles, capturing a piece of our studio’s historic legacy to share on social media, and a fun way for fans to express their TV and movie interests while forging a deeper emotional bond during our fan-led celebration of the studio’s 100th anniversary.”

The quick quiz only takes a few minutes on desktop or mobile, and gives a shout-out to some of your favorite Sony/Columbia productions including Gilda, Dr. Strangelove, GloryCharlie’s Angels, Community, and Venom (although I didn’t see any love for Morbius).

For the sake of science, I took the test three times and only got two repeat questions. The new site also allows fans take an interactive tour of the studio, read up on its history, and preview upcoming films like Madame Web, Kraven the Hunter, and even films not related to Spider-Man, like Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire.

For maximum nostalgia, Columbia has also released a very cool video highlighting some of their greatest films and TV series here.
